ESPERANTO: AN INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE FOR ALL

What is Esperanto?

Esperanto is a planned language, created for the purpose of being a second language for communication between people who speak different native languages. It is neutral, international, and easy to learn. It's creator, Doctor of medicine L. L. Zamenhof had the first book published in 1887 using the pseudonym "Dr. Esperanto" (Esperanto meaning `One who is hopeful') and the term soon became the accepted name of the language. Zamenhof was from the then Russia, now Poland, during a time when the unification of Europe was seen as a big thing and language problems abounded. He saw a common language as the first step towards this unification. Language is still an issue in Europe today, but it's often ignored because "good enough" translation services exist already.

Esperanto, the world language, is spoken in every country. In as little as two months you can be speaking to people that cannot speak to you in English.
